About Dominic Cefaratti
Phil Cefaratti serves as the President and Principal Broker of Potomac River Realtors, where he is recognized as a leading expert in the Washington, D.C. real estate market. His extensive knowledge in contract negotiation, local market dynamics, and financial modeling positions him as a trusted advisor in the industry.
Cefaratti began his real estate journey in 2007 with Weichert Realtors in Old Town Alexandria, where he quickly distinguished himself by earning the Rookie of the Year award. His exceptional sales acumen and leadership capabilities led to his appointment as Managing Broker of the Great Falls, Virginia office in 2010. In 2014, he achieved the prestigious NVAR Lifetime Top Producer designation.
In 2009, he made a bid for a seat on the Alexandria City Council, garnering recognition for his political potential despite not winning the election.
Before establishing his own firm, Cefaratti held the position of Director of Business Development at Sentori, a provider of software and services in the wireless sector. His prior experience includes providing corporate finance, business development, and project management services as an independent consultant for notable companies such as Vaultus, CMGI, and Legato Systems. He also served as an Aide to the CEO of Force Computers and worked as a contracts manager at Lockheed Martin.
Cefaratti's commitment to service extends to his 14 years as an officer in the United States Navy, where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander. His military accolades include the Joint Services Commendation Medal and the Joint Services Achievement Medal. He participated in the first Gulf War aboard the USS Austin (LPD-4) and was among the first military officers to earn DAWIA Level 2 certification in government contracts while serving with the Defense Logistics Agency.
A sixth-generation Washingtonian, Cefaratti has deep roots in Northern Virginia. He graduated from St. Anselm’s Abbey School, where he participated in the quiz show "It’s Academic." He holds a B.A. in English with minors in Accounting and Philosophy from The Catholic University of America, where he also played intercollegiate baseball, and an M.B.A. in International Business from Georgetown University. Additionally, he is a two-time finisher of the Marine Corps Marathon, completing the race in 1999 and 2001.
Cefaratti has served as president of the Seminary Ridge Civic Association and is actively involved in charitable work, particularly with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in honor of his nephew and godson, Anthony Clinton.
