I am originally from a small town in upstate New York After I graduated high school I attended Alfred State College and earned an Associate Degree in Ornamental Horticulture Once I graduated I moved to Washington D C where I was a foreman for a large Landscape Maintenance Company I quickly learned that the D C area was not for me so I adventured on to Charlotte North Carolina I took a job installing residential landscapes with a small family owned business Tired of working in the heat I decided to go back to college I went to Appalachian State University in beautiful Boone NC At Appalachian State I earned a bachelors degree in Geography My next adventure brought me to graduate school at Arizona State University After earning my masters degree I landed a job with URS Corporation At URS I was a Cartographer/GIS Analysts In 2008 I was let go from URS when the economy crashed Shortly after that I started teaching Intro to Geography for Rio Salado College Over all this time during my education and the careers I have mentioned I always worked a second job in restaurants and bars Twenty five years working in restaurants and bars provides me with excellent customer service skills and experience working with people \n\nDuring my free time I enjoy spending time with my Chocolate Lab Gracie Hiking kayaking and camping with friends I am pretty good cook and dabble in baking When the opportunity presents itself I love to travel and experience new cultures
