Born in Bennington and raised in South Londonderry Ross is a world-renowned snowboarder who has won more halfpipe titles than just about any other rider including Olympic Gold in 2002 and Bronze in 1998 as well as numerous titles in snowboard cross Since 2010 he has served as director of the snowboarding program at the Stratton Mountain School he also is a 1997 graduate of SMS \n\nHaving grown up in a single-parent household with limited financial resources Ross has dedicated himself to giving back to the community whose generous support he credits with making his snowboarding success possible In 2001 he founded the nonprofit Ross Powers Foundation which provides financial aid to promising athletes Seeking to expand his efforts and bridge the gap in athlete funding on a larger scale in 2010 he joined forces with other leading athletes to establish a new nonprofit foundation program the Level Field Fund which helps uniquely talented athletes overcome financial obstacles in order to pursue excellence in sport \n\nThese days Ross keeps his edge sharp with “fun” events such as the annual Vermont Open at Stratton where he enjoys competing against and rooting for athletes he works with as well as old friends \n\nRoss has been interested in real estate for most of his life from walking the land to hanging with friends at their condos on the mountain to making that perfect single-family house home In real estate there’s always something new to learn and understand! He first obtained his real estate license in 2005 \n\nRoss lives in Stratton with his wife Marisa—also a Licensed Sales Associate with TPW—and their daughters Victoria and Meredith \n
