Samantha's affinity for both water and mountains stems from her family background. Her mother hails from the Ten Thousand Islands, born into a lineage of commercial fishermen, while her father grew up as the son of a coal miner in West Virginia.

Throughout her career, Samantha has been actively involved in her community. She has held leadership positions, including serving as President of the Hamilton County Chamber of Commerce and is a current member of the Lake City Board of Realtors.

Now experiencing an empty nest, Samantha and her husband reside in a charming Cape Cod-style home built in 1941 in Jennings, where she is also serving as Mayor.
