David Gilbert's roots in Marin County trace back to 1948, when his family settled in the area. Raised in Tiburon, he attended schools within the Reed School District and graduated from Redwood High School in Larkspur. From a young age, David was drawn to the real estate sector, fueled by his involvement in local businesses in Belvedere and Tiburon. His early experiences, including making deliveries for various merchants, sparked his fascination with the distinctive architecture of the region.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, David pursued a law degree at UC Davis. He began his career at a private law firm before joining Pacific Gas and Electric Company, where he specialized in property negotiations, licensing, plant siting, and waste disposal.

In 1977, David transitioned into real estate, founding Tiburon Land Company in 1979. His extensive experience has positioned him as one of the top-performing agents in Marin County, with a focus on luxury home sales, waterfront properties, and high-end ranch estates across Marin and Sonoma Counties.

David is married to Cynthia, a licensed attorney in California with a specialization in equestrian ranch property development and the integration of technology in business practices. Together, they have three children: Jeanette, Alexandra, and Zoe. Jeanette, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree from UC Davis, has joined her father as a licensed real estate broker at Tiburon Land Company.
