About James Wohl
James M. “Jimmy” Wohl, a 1973 graduate of the University of Florida, relocated to Sebring with his wife, Jeri, to fulfill his lifelong aspiration of managing the family’s expansive 5,200-acre cattle ranch. His commitment to excellence quickly became evident as he implemented effective management strategies, leading the ranch to gain national recognition for its high-quality cattle and stunning natural landscapes. His dedication to environmental stewardship has earned him numerous accolades, including the inaugural “Sustainable Rancher Award” from Audubon Florida in 2013.
In 1981, seeking new challenges, Jimmy took on the role of developer, manager, and marketer for Golf Hammock Country Club and Community, a 600-acre, 18-hole golf community in Sebring featuring nearly 800 residential units. This venture broadened his expertise beyond agriculture and introduced him to the real estate sector.
Through this experience, Jimmy recognized that the essence of real estate lies in land use; the value of any property—be it agricultural, residential, commercial, or industrial—is closely tied to its potential return on investment. In an era marked by evolving regulations surrounding land use, real estate transactions, and financing, he believes it is essential to engage with an ethical, experienced, and dedicated real estate professional. Jimmy maintains high standards for himself and expects the same level of commitment from his colleagues at Heartland Realty.
