Jan is a proud mother to a son residing in San Joaquin County and has twin grandchildren, whom she adopted at the age of five and who are now thriving at 27.

Before relocating to the Sacramento area, Jan was a commercial real estate broker in Portland, Oregon, where she worked with Terranomics and MBK Northwest and served as an officer of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW). Her earlier years were spent in Marin County, where she attended Dominican University in San Rafael.

Jan is actively involved in local governance as a Board Trustee and Fire Commissioner for the Walnut Grove Fire Protection District. She also served as the Past President (2021-2022) and is a current member of the Board of Directors for the Walnut Grove Rotary.
