Allan relocated to Santa Rosa in 2018, bringing with him a wealth of experience from both the civil engineering and publishing sectors. Most recently, he served as Vice President at Bolchazy-Carducci Publishers in Mundelein, Illinois, where he spent a decade overseeing staff management, contract administration, financial performance analysis, and comprehensive marketing strategies. His responsibilities included crafting advertising content for various platforms, from websites to print materials, as well as managing sales and royalty arrangements. Concurrently, Allan developed his real estate acumen as the owner and manager of A-B Realty and Management, where he oversaw the leasing and maintenance of five office and warehouse units in Mundelein.

Before his tenure in publishing and property management, Allan enjoyed a successful twenty-year career as a civil engineer and project manager. Having visited the Santa Rosa area numerous times over the years, Allan and his husband have now made it their home. In Chicago, Allan volunteered with Ravenswood Community Services, preparing meals for those in need.
