Over the course of a year, Allana underwent extensive treatment, including chemotherapy and radiation, which often required her to spend six to eight hours at the hospital multiple times a week. The physical toll was immense; she experienced significant health challenges, including severe immune system damage and multiple blood transfusions. Despite these hardships, Allana emerged victorious, completing her last chemotherapy treatment in 2004 and entering remission. As of August 28, 2018, she has celebrated over fourteen years of being cancer-free, defying the odds of a disease with a 90% mortality rate.

Throughout her illness, Allana discovered the profound importance of relationships. Her husband, Adam, played an integral role in her recovery, providing unwavering support during her most challenging moments. Additionally, her family stepped in to help care for her son, reinforcing the bonds that have become a cornerstone of her life.

Allana’s experience has instilled in her a deep understanding of perspective and empathy.
