About Carolyn Tunison

A lifelong resident of the Traverse City area, this agent developed a deep appreciation for the region's natural beauty from an early age. After graduating from Traverse City Central High School in 2013, they pursued higher education at Northwestern Michigan Community College, earning an Associate's Degree in Arts and Science in 2015. Their passion for the environment led them to Michigan State University, where they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Geology in 2018.

Following graduation, they ventured westward, always keeping an eye on the real estate market through the Zillow app, even while engaged in fieldwork. However, the allure of family and the charm of Traverse City drew them back home within a year. In 2019, they began their professional career as an Environmental Geologist in Northern Michigan. The following year marked a significant personal milestone as they purchased their first home, and shortly thereafter, they sold it to acquire a second property. This experience ignited a passion for the real estate process itself, prompting a transition from geology to a career in real estate, while still nurturing their love for the field as a hobby.

To gain valuable insights into the industry, they spent six months as an assistant to a leading agent in Traverse City, diligently absorbing knowledge and skills. In December 2021, they obtained their real estate license and have since thrived as a full-time agent. Committed to community engagement, they actively volunteer with the Women’s Council of Realtors, serving as the 2023 Program Director, and have been a Big in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program for the past two years.

Antrim County, Michigan presents a fascinating real estate landscape characterized by its unique blend of lakefront properties, rural acreage, and charming small-town communities. Located in the northern Lower Peninsula, this county attracts buyers seeking both seasonal retreats and year-round residences along the shores of Lake Michigan and numerous inland lakes. The market here operates with a tight-knit network of 184 total actively licensed agents, all of whom maintain email contact information, creating an unusually connected professional community.

What makes Antrim County particularly intriguing is its dual nature as both a vacation destination and a legitimate year-round housing market. Unlike many seasonal markets that see dramatic swings, Antrim County maintains steady activity throughout the year, driven by retirees relocating from urban areas, remote workers seeking affordable lakefront living, and investors capitalizing on the short-term rental boom around Torch Lake and Lake Charlevoix.

Major Antrim County, Michigan Real Estate Markets

Bellaire serves as the county seat and represents the most active traditional residential market, offering everything from starter homes to executive properties. The town's proximity to Shanty Creek Resort and multiple ski areas creates year-round demand, while Torch Lake's crystal-clear waters have earned it the nickname "Caribbean of the North," driving premium pricing for waterfront properties. Central Lake and Elk Rapids round out the major population centers, each offering distinct character and price points.

The Antrim County market extends beyond these traditional towns to encompass numerous lake communities and rural subdivisions. Areas around Intermediate Lake, Clam Lake, and the Chain of Lakes system create micro-markets with their own pricing dynamics. Surprisingly, some of the most valuable properties aren't necessarily on the largest lakes – secluded parcels on smaller lakes often command premium prices due to their privacy and exclusivity.

Market Dynamics and Geographic Complexity

Antrim County's real estate market operates on multiple levels simultaneously, creating complexity that requires local expertise to navigate effectively. Seasonal fluctuations remain significant, with spring and summer months seeing the highest activity levels, yet the market has shown remarkable resilience during economic downturns. Properties here tend to hold value well due to the finite supply of lakefront land and increasing demand from urban refugees seeking lifestyle changes.

The geographic diversity within the county creates distinct pricing tiers and buyer demographics. Waterfront properties command the highest premiums, while inland acreage appeals to those seeking privacy and space. Interestingly, the county has seen growing interest in properties suitable for glamping and agritourism ventures, reflecting broader trends toward experiential travel and alternative income streams.

Why Businesses Need Antrim County, Michigan Agent Contact Data

Service providers, contractors, and real estate-related businesses find tremendous value in connecting with Antrim County's complete network of 184 licensed agents. These professionals handle everything from modest lake cottages to multi-million dollar estates, creating diverse opportunities for mortgage brokers, home inspectors, insurance agents, and renovation contractors. The county's unique mix of seasonal and permanent residents generates consistent demand for specialized services.

Having direct email access to all active agents proves particularly valuable given the county's geographic spread and seasonal nature of much business. Agents here often work with out-of-state buyers and sellers, creating opportunities for title companies, moving services, and property management firms to establish referral relationships that extend well beyond Michigan's borders.
