After 10 years with GE he went to work for Genlyte Corporation as Director of Marketing and Manufacturing and was eventually promoted to Vice President of sales In this role he was responsible for 800 million dollars in sales After 4 years at Genlyte he was recruited by Cooper Industries Lighting Group as the Vice President of Sales for the Western Region and was responsible for sales distribution and marketing In 1992 he started his own lighting manufacturing representative company Cary sold the company after 9 years of ownership during which time he grew the business to sales of over 75 million dollars
