About Cheryl Nickel
Cheryl embarked on her real estate journey in 1985 in Arcadia, where she began her career with Bliss Keeler Investments. Her focus was primarily on investment properties, including apartment complexes, commercial and industrial buildings, and land development, allowing her to cultivate exceptional negotiation skills. Later, she transitioned to residential real estate while maintaining her license with Norm Haley Real Estate. In 2006, Cheryl achieved her California real estate broker license.
A Pasadena native, Cheryl graduated from Polytechnic School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with a minor in Theater from Pomona College. Shortly after completing her degree, she had the unique opportunity to work as a French translator for Walt Disney Imagineering on the Euro Disneyland project. Following this creative endeavor, she spent seven years at First Interstate Bancorp, where she served as the second-in-command in the Office of the Corporate Secretary, utilizing her organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
In 2008, Cheryl relocated to Northern Idaho, obtaining her broker license there in 2010. She served as an Associate Broker at Four Seasons Realty in St. Maries for approximately four years before returning to the Pasadena area in 2017.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Cheryl has a passion for dance. She competed in International ballroom dancing for fifteen years, achieving notable success, including first-place recognition from the current Amateur National Champions. When not dancing, she enjoyed ice dance classes at the rink.
Cheryl remains actively involved in the skating community as a judge for U.S. Figure Skating and is a member of the Los Angeles Figure Skating Club. She previously served as president of the Spokane Figure Skating Club from 2014 to 2016 and was a long-standing member of its Board of Directors. Additionally, she is part of the Pasadena Chapter of P.E.O., an organization dedicated to funding women’s scholarships. During her time in Idaho, Cheryl volunteered her skills to create and manage websites for various non-profits, including the local humane society. Since returning to Southern California, she has contributed her time to Reading Partners, a literacy program for elementary students, and is involved with the San Marino League and Pasadena Heritage.
In her leisure time, Cheryl enjoys baking, reading, quilting, sewing, and pampering her cat.
