About Dana King

Dana, a native of East Texas, began his work life at an early age, assisting his father with tasks such as milking cows and hauling hay. By the age of seven, he realized that a career in agriculture was not his calling, prompting him to seek a different path.

In 2003, Dana embarked on his professional journey in real estate as a land surveyor. He relocated to Tyler, where he earned a degree in Surveying and Mapping from Tyler Junior College and The University of Texas at Tyler. During his studies, he gained practical experience as a landman in East Texas, where he managed title research, negotiated oil and gas leases, and oversaw properties across central Louisiana, eastern New Mexico, and Texas for leading firms in the industry.

Dana achieved the designation of Certified Professional Landman from the American Association of Professional Landmen and co-founded K and M Resources LLC, a land firm. He also played a pivotal role in establishing KMC Oil and Gas LLC, an independent exploration company focused on evaluating and investing in oil and gas opportunities in Texas, as well as Eighty-One Royalties LLC, which specializes in buying and selling mineral interests nationwide. By 2009, Dana had fully transitioned into real estate, obtaining his Texas Broker’s License and founding Red Stag Real Estate LLC.

His extensive background as a land surveyor and petroleum landman has provided Dana with a comprehensive understanding of the real estate landscape. From his early experiences on a dairy farm to his expertise in land surveying and title research, he possesses the skills necessary to assist clients in finding their ideal homes or investment properties.

Currently residing in Longview, Texas, Dana shares his life with his wife, Jessica, a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist, and their son, Decker, who attends Hallsville ISD. The family enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, deep-sea fishing, and snow skiing. They are active members of the First Baptist Church of Hallsville and the Pinecrest Country Club in Longview.
