Her career trajectory took a significant turn when she was recruited by a developer to serve as project manager, property manager, office manager, and construction finance supervisor. In this multifaceted role, Darlene acquired comprehensive knowledge of the building industry, including submissions to the Department of Real Estate for Homeowners Associations, as well as budget calculations for residential condominiums and multi-family properties, including motels. After eleven years with Pierco Development, where she played a pivotal role until the owner's retirement, Darlene earned her real estate license.

Transitioning from construction to finance, Darlene entered the mortgage industry, initially as an assistant to the owner before advancing to office management. In this capacity, she trained loan officers to provide backup lending for major national builders. Her expertise encompasses Conventional, Jumbo, FHA/VA, Construction, and Commercial Finance, with extensive experience in both retail and wholesale lending for a mortgage banker and a bank.

For eight years, Darlene managed property for 87 retail locations, negotiating leases and renewals for a nationally ranked jewelry company. This experience deepened her understanding of commercial leases, as she oversaw all store locations and acquired both residential and commercial properties. Her background in construction enabled her to effectively manage tenant improvements, build-outs, and remodels.
