About Debra Sopko

Debbie, a native of Iowa, has been a dedicated supporter of Big 10 football throughout her life. In 1980, she moved to Miami to embark on a career as a computer systems analyst. In 1987, she and her husband, Jim Sopko, settled in Martin County to raise their family. Jim is a partner at the law firm Kramer Sopko and Levenstein, where he focuses on wills, trusts, estate planning, and tax law.

Both Debbie and Jim are actively involved in various local charitable initiatives, including the restoration of the historic Lyric Theatre in downtown Stuart, the Library Foundation, and Helping People Succeed, an organization that offers training and education for individuals with special needs across all age groups.

In addition to her community involvement, Debbie is passionate about tennis, competing in the Martin Downs inter-club league in Palm City. She practices Iyengar yoga, participates in two book clubs, and is a sustaining member of the local Junior League chapter. From 1995 to 2011, she served as the Executive Coordinator of the Martin County Taxpayers’ Association.
