Denise and Jay's journey began on the vibrant stage of a jazz festival, where their paths crossed as freelance musicians. Jay, a former member of the US Army Band, brought his sultry saxophone skills, while Denise, a performer at Carnegie Hall, showcased her versatile vocals. Together, they created a distinctive sound that encompassed a wide range of musical styles, from the Big Band era to contemporary pop. In 1996, they launched their first venture, the SaxyDuo, and continue to perform professionally today.

Their personal and professional lives intertwined further with their marriage, the purchase of a new home, and the joy of raising four talented children. As dedicated parents of three sons and a daughter, they utilized the equity in their home to establish Middletown Music, a retail store and music education center. Over the next thirteen years, they focused on nurturing their family alongside a dedicated team of instructors and a loyal clientele. Their commitment to music education allowed them to travel nationwide for trade shows, often with their children, while connecting with renowned artists from around the world. The center flourished, expanding its band instrument rental program and fostering a culture that promoted a lifelong appreciation for music.

In 2009, the couple embarked on a new chapter by acquiring a vacation home in Orlando, followed by a move to the picturesque Gulf Coast five years later.
