About Derek Oie

Derek embarked on his real estate journey at a young age, initially assisting with marketing efforts for a real estate firm while still in elementary school. He obtained his real estate license at 22 and advanced to become a licensed broker by 24. Within five years of committing to the industry full-time, he achieved remarkable success, selling over 100 homes annually.

Throughout his extensive career, Derek has collaborated with banks, hedge funds, and national homebuilders, addressing their diverse real estate needs. He has shared his expertise on a national scale, delivering lectures at 23 Keller Williams Market Centers and providing insights to prominent media outlets, including the Los Angeles Times.

In 2017, Derek joined Keller Williams Realty International and founded Movement Real Estate, which has grown to encompass eight locations across Southern California. His team has earned recognition from Real Trends and America’s Best as one of the leading real estate teams in the nation. In 2020, he launched Movement Investments, a private equity firm focused on residential property investments. Additionally, he established Movement Management, which invests in real estate brokerages, escrow services, and mortgage businesses.

Over his 30-year career, Derek has successfully completed more than 4,000 real estate transactions, amassing over $1.5 billion in sales. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from California State University, Fullerton, graduating in 1992.
