Before establishing Sea Grove Realty, Derek gained extensive experience in client service as a CPA at Deloitte, the world’s largest professional services firm. After earning his degree from Loyola University Chicago, he joined Deloitte’s Chicago office, specializing in tax services. During his tenure, he worked across various sectors, including Real Estate, Financial Services, Family Businesses, and Manufacturing. Notably, he led the client service team for a prominent hotel and ski resort developer, overseeing all compliance-related tasks. Following nine years in Chicago, Derek returned to Miami, where he transitioned to the Audit function, focusing primarily on the Healthcare and Gaming industries. He quickly took on the role of team lead for the audit of a major healthcare provider in South Florida. This diverse professional background has equipped him with valuable insights into delivering exceptional customer service, while also honing his interpersonal, quantitative, and analytical skills.

Derek's passion for real estate is deeply rooted in his upbringing, as he grew up alongside his mother, a realtor with over 20 years of experience. This exposure allowed him to appreciate the myriad opportunities and relationships that the industry fosters. His enthusiasm for real estate, combined with his professional experiences in Chicago, inspired him to co-found Sea Grove Realty.
