About Dermot Obrien

Dermot O'Brien became a member of Sotheby’s International Realty in 2019, bringing with him 35 years of diverse business expertise, including a decade as the owner of Dermot O'Brien Realty on Singer Island. His extensive knowledge makes him a valuable resource for clients interested in buying, selling, or leasing properties in Singer Island, Juno Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter, and Palm Beach.

Since 2004, Dermot has achieved over $300 million in sales within these regions, earning recognition from prominent publications and numerous accolades. His honors include the Ritz Carlton Residences Power Broker Award in 2012, the Best Real Estate Agent in Florida Award from International Property Magazine in 2013-2014, and the Best Boutique Real Estate Brokerage in Florida Award in 2017-2018, also from the same publication.

Dermot holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a BA from University College Dublin in Ireland. Committed to continuous learning, he recently completed a diploma in digital marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute. A native of Ireland, Dermot began his career in London at a leading advertising agency, focusing on new product development. After earning his MBA, he pursued a successful path in marketing and management consulting before launching an internet business in 1997.

His real estate journey commenced in East Hampton, New York, before relocating to Florida in 2003. Dermot developed a keen interest in the exclusive Singer Island community, where he worked directly with a condominium developer on a luxury resort project. His consultative sales approach resulted in 40 multi-million-dollar transactions and earned him a prestigious award for the project.

Dermot further enhanced his expertise in the local real estate market during a challenging economic period, gaining experience at leading brokerages and receiving top producer awards in 2008, 2009, and 2010. In 2010, he founded Islands Realty, later rebranded as Dermot O'Brien Realty, establishing an office at the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Hotel & Resort. His commitment to concierge-level service, innovative marketing, and advanced technology positioned his agency as one of the premier boutique firms in the area.

With a remarkable track record of over 300 property sales in the past 18 years and extensive experience representing both landlords and tenants in more than 100 transactions, Dermot's in-depth knowledge of condominium buildings and single-family neighborhoods on Singer Island and beyond allows him to deliver exceptional service to his clients. He expresses a genuine passion for his work, stating, "I love what I do. The challenges excite me, and I enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories. The opportunities I've encountered in America have been remarkable, largely due to the incredible individuals I've had the privilege to meet and collaborate with."

Palm Beach County's real estate market represents one of Florida's most dynamic and diverse property landscapes, stretching from the Atlantic coastline to the agricultural heartland of the Everglades. With 46,591 total actively licensed agents serving this expansive region, the market demonstrates both incredible opportunity and intense competition. What makes this particularly remarkable is that all 46,591 agents maintain current email contact information, reflecting the tech-savvy, fast-moving nature of South Florida's real estate industry.

The sheer density of real estate professionals in Palm Beach County tells a compelling story about market velocity and consumer demand. This concentration of agents serves everything from luxury oceanfront estates in Palm Beach proper to affordable starter homes in suburban communities, creating a complex ecosystem where specialization and local expertise become crucial differentiators in an increasingly crowded marketplace.

Major Palm Beach County, Florida Real Estate Markets

The county's real estate activity centers around several distinct metropolitan areas, each with unique characteristics and price points. West Palm Beach anchors the urban core with its revitalized downtown, luxury condominiums, and growing tech sector, while coastal communities like Delray Beach, Boca Raton, and Jupiter command premium prices for their beachfront properties and resort-style amenities. Wellington has emerged as a premier equestrian destination, attracting international buyers seeking horse properties and polo club memberships.

Surprising growth has occurred in previously overlooked areas like Lake Worth, Boynton Beach, and Greenacres, where younger buyers and investors are discovering value plays close to major employment centers. The western communities of Royal Palm Beach, Loxahatchee, and Belle Glade offer more affordable options while still providing access to the county's amenities, creating diverse opportunities for agents specializing in different market segments and buyer demographics.

Market Dynamics and Geographic Complexity

Palm Beach County's real estate market operates across dramatically different geographic zones, from barrier islands with strict development limitations to inland areas experiencing rapid suburban expansion. Seasonal fluctuations significantly impact inventory and pricing, with winter months bringing an influx of international and out-of-state buyers who drive up competition for premium properties. The county's appeal to retirees, families, and young professionals creates multiple submarkets operating simultaneously with different price pressures and inventory challenges.

Climate resilience has become an increasingly important factor, with buyers paying premiums for properties with hurricane-resistant construction and flood mitigation features. The market has also seen surprising strength in luxury rural properties, as remote work trends allow buyers to choose larger lots and custom homes in previously less desirable western areas, fundamentally reshaping traditional real estate value propositions throughout the region.

Why Businesses Need Palm Beach County, Florida Agent Contact Data

Financial services companies, mortgage lenders, and insurance providers require direct access to Palm Beach County's extensive agent network to efficiently market their products in this high-volume market. With nearly 47,000 agents actively working deals, companies that can effectively reach this audience gain significant competitive advantages in loan originations, policy sales, and financial product placement across diverse market segments.

Technology companies, marketing agencies, and real estate service providers need comprehensive agent contact data to introduce new tools, services, and platforms that can help agents succeed in this competitive environment. The fact that all agents maintain current email addresses makes digital marketing campaigns more effective, allowing businesses to segment by geographic focus, specialization, or experience level to deliver targeted messaging that resonates with specific agent populations.
