Derrick Johnson is a highly regarded real estate professional and community advocate in the Florida Keys. Since joining the Coco Plum Real Estate Luxury and Residential team in 2013, he has dedicated his expertise to assisting individuals, investors, and developers in navigating the unique real estate landscape of the Florida Keys, with a particular emphasis on the Marathon Key Colony Beach and Big Pine Key areas.

With a robust background in business that spans both the Florida Keys and Dubai, Derrick transitioned to the Keys following his service in the U.S. Navy. He leverages nearly two decades of experience, including over 12 years in hotel and property management, to provide exceptional service to his clients.

Derrick's commitment to the Marathon community is evident through his numerous contributions. He was honored with the 2017 Humanitarian of the Year award for his significant efforts in supporting the community following Hurricane Irma. His leadership roles include serving as a Board Member for Habitat for Humanity of the Middle Keys, a past officer of the Marathon & Lower Keys Association of Realtors Board of Directors, and involvement with the American Legion Post 154 and the Middle Keys Community Land Trust. Additionally, he is an appointed member of the City of Marathon’s Affordable Housing Task Force and holds a license as an International Real Estate Consultant in Dubai.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Derrick enjoys cooking and exploring diverse cultures, having traveled to 23 countries across five continents.
