She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from The University of Texas at Austin, launching her professional journey as a Marketing Representative and Underwriter with Chubb Insurance Company. Dona later acquired a Personal Insurance License and successfully managed a Personal Lines Division in Houston before returning to her East Texas hometown with her husband.

Dona and her husband, Jimmy Willett, are parents to three children. The family humorously refers to their “house divided,” as Kaitlyn and her husband Bryan are Texas Tech alumni, Kerris graduated from UT Austin, and Matthew and his wife Kourtney are Texas A&M graduates. Active members of Mobberly Baptist Church, Dona enjoys singing in the choir and is deeply involved in both church and community activities. She also cherishes time spent with her three grandchildren, Hattie, Millie, and Hunt.
