About Ellis Grossman

Ellis Grossman, a native of Charleston, began his professional journey in the restaurant industry. Although this was not his initial career path, he discovered a strong affinity for the sector, particularly in the realm of real estate and its potential for profitability.

Ellis pursued his education at the Culinary Institute of Charleston, affiliated with Trident Technical College, where he earned degrees in culinary arts and business technology. Rather than following a conventional route, he immersed himself in the fast food industry, ultimately serving as Director of Operations for Bojangles and later as Vice President. His commitment to culinary education led him to become Chairman of the Board at the Culinary Institute of Charleston, where he also taught culinary classes.

In 2010, motivated by a desire to introduce healthier ingredients into the fast food landscape, Ellis founded Black Bean Co. He infused his passion for fresh produce into the company’s mission. While managing five restaurants, he also cultivated 35 acres of land, supplying local restaurants in Charleston with his harvest through partnerships with Limehouse Produce. His dedication to sustainability is evident in his use of fresh ingredients, compostable packaging, and eco-friendly decor, reflecting his deep understanding of sustainable practices.

After his tenure at Black Bean Co., Ellis sought to extend his impact in a new arena. In 2017, he transitioned into real estate, driven by a commitment to assist community members with their current real estate needs and to guide them in achieving their future investment goals. Ellis is dedicated to fostering lasting relationships and providing exceptional service to clients, customers, vendors, and the broader community.
