A North Carolina native, Emily has spent over two decades in the picturesque High Country. Growing up in Chapel Hill within a large extended family, [he/she/they] developed a deep-rooted passion for the University of North Carolina. While most of [his/her/their] family are Appalachian State graduates, Emily chose Boone as [his/her/their] college destination, drawn by the region's natural beauty and the welcoming spirit of its residents. Since relocating in 1997, [he/she/they] has embraced the mountain lifestyle.

Emily met [his/her/their] husband, Dave, at Appalachian State University, and they married in 2001. Together, they raise three children—Elias (15), Faith (13), and Penelope (11)—on a small farm in Meat Camp, just outside Boone. Their family enjoys tending to their sheep and chickens, balancing farm life with busy schedules. Dave is a dedicated middle school science teacher at Valle Crucis Elementary School.

Before transitioning into real estate, Emily spent five years as a co-teacher for the 9-12 age group at Mountain Pathways Montessori School. [He/She/They] has also been actively involved in [his/her/their] church, Harvest House, where [he/she/they] has taught preschool for two decades—a testament to [his/her/their] commitment to the community.
