Fred has held various leadership roles, including Vice President of a family-owned casting business in Los Angeles and President of a private corporation he established in 1974.

His community involvement includes serving as Past-President of the La Canada Flintridge Rotary Club and participating in various committees. Currently, he is an active member of Foothill Christian Fellowship in Meadow Vista and serves on the Board of the Meadow Vista Community Center, as well as being involved with the Lions Club. Additionally, Fred has taught Metal Technology at Sierra Community College.
