Gary Negri, a REALTOR with W Real Estate, transitioned to the real estate sector in 2005 following a distinguished 30-year career as a police captain with the Santa Rosa Police Department.

Deeply committed to his community, Gary has participated in various committees and organizations, notably serving on the Chop’s Teen Club Task Force on Homelessness and the Executive Board of the Sonoma County Family Justice Center.

He and his wife, Kathy, a dedicated teacher in the Mark West School District, have been residents of Santa Rosa since 1987. They are proud parents of three adult sons, all alumni of Cardinal Newman High School and Chico State University. The Negri family has a long-standing tradition of involvement in local organizations, youth sports, and educational initiatives. Gary is an active member of the Young Men’s Institute and the Cardinal Newman Dad’s Club.

Gary holds a Bachelor’s degree from Chico State University and a teaching credential from the University of California, Davis. Since 1987, he has served as an instructor at the Santa Rosa Junior College Law Enforcement Training Center, specializing in community policing, community relations, sexual harassment, cultural diversity, victimology, and firearms training.

In their leisure time, Gary and Kathy enjoy traveling and retreating to their family getaways in Lake Tahoe and Lassen National Park. They have a passion for outdoor sports and cherish moments spent with family and friends, including their two granddaughters, Stella and Lena, as well as their black and white cocker spaniel, Vinny.
