His wife, Kim, a fellow Ashevillian, is a broker with Town and Mountain as well. Together, they share their home with their dog, Maverick, and two cats, Charlie and Lucy.

With a robust background in the HVAC industry, Ian owned his own business for several years, gaining extensive knowledge of the local real estate landscape and a variety of home styles. This expertise led him to become a licensed home inspector in North Carolina, complementing his role as a broker.
