About James McCrate

Since obtaining his REALTOR® license in 1999, he has dedicated his career to guiding clients through one of life’s most significant milestones: buying or selling a home. He considers it a privilege to assist individuals in achieving their homeownership dreams, recognizing the profound personal and financial implications involved in these transactions.

A native of Southeast Texas, he graduated from Lamar University in 1988 with a degree in accounting. His early career took him to Houston, where he worked for an accounting firm before returning to Beaumont to manage the family accounting business.

His journey into real estate was inspired by his wife, Capri, whom he met on a blind date in January 1993. They married a year later, and in 1994, Capri obtained her real estate license, sparking his interest in the field. After taking a break from real estate to focus on raising their two children, she returned to the profession. Their son, Easton, graduated from Texas A&M University in 2021, while their daughter, Gracen, is now a licensed cosmetologist after attending the Aveda Arts and Sciences Institute.

Having personally navigated the buying and selling process multiple times, he understands the importance of client care and strives to treat others as he would wish to be treated. His commitment extends beyond closing, ensuring clients feel supported throughout their entire journey.

He has earned several prestigious designations, including CRS, GRI, ABR, and CNHS, and has held a Broker’s License since 2001. In 2019, he acquired his Mortgage License to deepen his industry knowledge, although he does not operate as a loan officer.

As a team leader, he has achieved numerous accolades, including multiple production awards from RE/MAX Texas and recognition as Team of the Year on two occasions. His team has consistently been among the top producers in their local RE/MAX office.

Outside of real estate, he enjoys traveling with his family and has recently taken up scuba diving, achieving Advanced Open Water certification. A devoted Disney enthusiast, he and his family make it a tradition to visit the park at least once a year.
