About James Newcomb

Jim Newcomb, a Southern California native, originally hails from Manhattan Beach and has also lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Antioch, California. After relocating to Lake Arrowhead from the Bay Area, he brings over 25 years of extensive experience in sales, marketing, merchandising, and negotiation to his role as a Licensed Real Estate Broker.

In 2006, Jim completed his training at Loan Officer School and has since worked as a mortgage consultant, including a tenure at Arrowhead Home Loans. His real estate focus encompasses the sale of cabins and lakefront properties from Crestline to Lake Arrowhead and extending to Green Valley Lake. He is well-versed in handling probate sales, short sales, and foreclosures, and has provided training for fellow agents on these specialized transactions.

Jim has collaborated with corporate clients on both the buying and listing sides, particularly for corporate retreats. He holds several prestigious certifications, including Previews Property Specialist, Certified Negotiation Specialist, Certified e-Marketing Specialist, and the SFR designation (Certified Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource).

Active in the Lake Arrowhead community, Jim volunteers as the local Scoutmaster and has received accolades such as the Eagle Scout Wood Badge and Silver Beaver. He serves as one of the Lake Arrowhead Advisory Representatives for the Recreation & Parks District and has previously held the position of President of the Rim Recreation Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting local parks. Additionally, he and his family have contributed their time to Wildhaven Ranch, a wildlife rehabilitation center.

As a passionate wine enthusiast, Jim is the President of both the Arrowhead Wine Enthusiasts club and the Gourmet Wine & Dine Club. He is a certified Level III Sommelier through the International Sommelier Guild and has earned an advanced wine certification from the WSET.

An alumnus of the USC Marshall School of Business, Jim is proud of his educational background. Prior to his real estate career, he held various management roles at Stouffer Foods Corporation and served as the Western Sales Director for JB Williams Company Inc., overseeing 13 sales offices and managing national accounts with Albertsons and Safeway.

In his personal life, Jim enjoys backpacking, mountain climbing, skiing, fine dining, and collecting Native American artwork. His wife, Jean, works as a veterinary technician at Arrowhead Animal Hospital. Their eldest son, Jon, is a former U.S. Air Force Captain and currently holds a management position at Target, while their youngest son, Matt, is a middle school science teacher, and his wife is a Physician Assistant.
