About James Shanken

Raised in Charleston, South Carolina, this dedicated professional transitioned from a successful career in the restaurant industry to serve eight years in the U.S. Army. Throughout his military tenure, he received multiple accolades, notably being inducted into the prestigious Sgt. Morales Club in Germany and becoming a founding member of the Audie Murphy Club at Fort Stewart—honors reserved for the Army's elite Non-Commissioned Officers. His service included deployment to Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Shield and subsequent action in Iraq for Operation Desert Storm.

After arriving at Fort Stewart in October 1994, he purchased his first home in Long County. Following his military career, he founded Allenhurst Fence in 1996, which he later sold to Nations Fence in 2000.

Since 2002, he has been a REALTOR® in the Hinesville/Fort Stewart area. Drawing on his experiences as a combat veteran and a family man, he understands the challenges associated with deployments and relocations.
