Moving to Sierra Vista with their two young sons, Jan and Patrick operated Pueblo Del Sol Country Club for 20 years. During this time, Jan also pursued a career in aviation, working for a major airline while managing the golf shop.

In 2002, after selling their golf business, Jan and Patrick returned to Phoenix, where they enjoyed a semi-retired lifestyle.
