About John Durfey

A native of Houston, this real estate professional has cultivated a deep-seated passion for both homes and client service. With a commitment to prioritizing clients' needs, they find immense joy in the house-hunting process. The thrill of witnessing a buyer's realization that they have found "the one" is a highlight of their career, especially in today’s competitive market, where navigating multiple offers can be challenging.

Their journey in real estate began in 1987 after earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from The University of Texas at Austin. Initially, they remained in Austin, taking a position with a builder specializing in new construction starter homes. While the production-oriented style of these homes, characterized by vinyl flooring and cultured marble, was not their ideal, the experience provided invaluable insights into the construction process.

Following this, they transitioned to a small residential brokerage in Austin, and briefly explored a career as a flight attendant with Eastern Air Lines. Since 1991, they have collaborated with three top producers in Houston, ultimately joining Martha Turner Sotheby's International Realty in 2004. This esteemed firm has enabled them to harness their creativity in marketing exceptional properties throughout the Houston area.

With a robust background in new construction, remodeling, and DIY projects, they have successfully facilitated sales across a diverse range of neighborhoods, including the Memorial Villages, Tanglewood, Westhaven Estates, the Galleria, Montrose, the Heights, and extending north to The Woodlands and Lake Conroe.

With over 27 years of experience, this agent is dedicated to providing exceptional service to both buyers and sellers, feeling fortunate to have built lasting relationships with wonderful clients along the way. They are ready to assist you in your real estate journey.
