He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from San Francisco State University, earned in 1979, with a focus on Business, Finance, and Real Estate. His leadership experience includes serving as Past President of the Mendocino County Board of Realtors and as a Past State Director for the California Association of Realtors. He is an active member of the National Association of Realtors, the California Association of Realtors, and the North Bay Association of Realtors. Additionally, he is affiliated with the Bay Area Real Estate Information Service (BAREIS) MLS, which encompasses Mendocino, Sonoma, Napa, Solano, and Marin Counties, as well as the Mendocino Coast MLS and Lake County MLS. Raised in Mendocino County, he currently resides in Ukiah with his wife, where they successfully raised their daughters.
