He grew up on a working cattle ranch in Texas and transitioned to a fulfilling career as a professional firefighter, dedicating over 30 years to public service before retiring in 2014. An Air Force veteran, Paul served honorably during Desert Storm and participated in the Kurdish relief efforts.

In 1999, Paul married Delana at Coastline Calvary Chapel in Gulf Breeze. Their family continues to thrive in the area, with their son and daughter-in-law also residing in Gulf Breeze, where they are raising three children.
