Johnny and Genie, both hailing from a small town in rural North Carolina, have shared a lifelong connection that began in middle school. Their paths diverged as Genie pursued her studies at North Carolina State University while Johnny attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Despite the distance, they married in 1977 and celebrated their honeymoon on Hilton Head Island.

Three years later, Johnny was invited to Hilton Head Island to embark on a career in real estate. Over the past 42 years, he and Genie have raised four children and welcomed 14 grandchildren, all while establishing deep roots in the Lowcountry. Johnny has built a successful career, assisting clients in buying and selling homes in the Hilton Head and Bluffton areas.
