Joujou Chawla, originally from New Delhi, India, received her education at Tara Hall, a Catholic boarding school in Simla, known as India’s summer capital. After earning her undergraduate degree in Economics from New Delhi University, she was introduced to her future husband, Piri Chawla, through traditional matchmaking, leading to their engagement within just 14 hours. In 1980, Joujou relocated to the United States, initially residing in New York and Texas before settling in Blackhawk, California, in 1985.

**Professional Journey**

Joujou began her real estate career in Dallas, Texas, in 1982, and joined Blackhawk Properties/Blackhawk Realty in 1985. Her commitment and diligence quickly distinguished her from her peers. She remained with the firm until 1991, when she obtained her brokerage license and became a co-owner, rebranding the company as Blackhawk Real Estate Company. Under her leadership, the firm achieved sales volumes typically associated with much larger companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. For nearly a decade, she also served as the organization’s CFO. In 2008, her company merged with J Rockcliff, solidifying its position as a key player in the Bay Area real estate market.
