Chip and his wife have called Wilmington, North Carolina, home for over two decades, where they raised their two sons and actively engaged with the community. A strong advocate for local involvement, she earned her Master Gardener Certificate in 1997. Alongside a friend, she established the Children’s Garden at the New Hanover County Arboretum, where she designed the garden's charming cottage. Her commitment to service extends to several years on the Heart Ball committee, volunteering with OPSU at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, and participating on the Medical Auxiliary Board.
