About Kelly Yeiser

After completing her studies at Vanderbilt University in 1997, she began her professional journey at a quaint coffee house in historic Biltmore Village, where her affection for the area blossomed. Following seven years spent in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Eastern North Carolina, she returned to the enchanting mountains of Western North Carolina and Asheville. Although the region had evolved, its vibrant essence remained as captivating as ever.

For the past fifteen years, she and her husband have proudly called Asheville home. Throughout their time here, they have owned several residences, each one prompting the sentiment, “This one is our favorite!” Their first property, a charming 1920s Arts & Crafts bungalow in downtown Asheville, provided them with both the joys and challenges of renovating an older home. Much like Asheville itself, this house possessed a unique character, representing a significant piece of their personal history.

A few years later, they settled in the picturesque Kenilworth neighborhood, where they have resided for thirteen years. Their most recent project involved building a new home four years ago. Initially apprehensive, she soon discovered the excitement of constructing a house from the ground up, relishing the creative processes and the opportunity to apply her design skills. She would eagerly undertake another similar project.

Her diverse background in international hotel sales, event planning, counseling, and interior design seamlessly aligns with her real estate career. With a keen eye for detail and a talent for recognizing the potential in properties, she is adept at understanding her clients’ needs. Asheville and its surrounding areas boast a rich tapestry of communities, neighborhoods, and architectural styles, offering her something new to discover every day. Real estate is her passion, and she is eager to assist clients in finding their next cherished home, whether it be an older residence, a newly constructed property, or something in between.

**More About Her:**

Outside of her real estate endeavors, she enjoys exploring the region with her husband, three children, and two dogs. The family delights in paddling the local rivers, hiking, biking, skiing in the winter, and camping. Personally, she finds joy in urban running and practicing yoga. Weekend evenings often involve grilling with friends, dining downtown or in the River Arts District, or simply enjoying a glass of wine on a neighbor’s porch.

Deeply committed to her community, she actively participates in her children’s schools, Claxton Elementary and the French Broad River Academy, volunteering at various levels. As a family, they engage in neighborhood clean-up initiatives and collaborate with the French Broad River Keeper on river restoration efforts. She also supports organizations such as Asheville Greenworks, the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy, and the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina.

Major Buncombe County, North Carolina Real Estate Markets

Asheville dominates the county's real estate landscape, serving as the cultural and economic hub with its renowned downtown arts district, craft brewery scene, and proximity to outdoor recreation. The city's neighborhoods range from historic Montford and Grove Park to emerging areas like the River Arts District, each offering distinct character and price points. Surrounding Asheville, communities like Black Mountain, Weaverville, and Swannanoa provide more affordable alternatives while maintaining easy access to urban amenities.

The western portions of the county, including areas near the Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah National Forest, command premium prices for their mountain views and privacy. These regions attract luxury buyers seeking second homes or primary residences with acreage, while the eastern communities like Fairview and Fletcher appeal to families wanting newer construction and excellent schools within commuting distance to Asheville's employment centers.

Market Dynamics and Geographic Complexity

Buncombe County's real estate market operates across dramatically different price tiers and buyer demographics, from first-time homebuyers in Candler and Leicester to million-dollar luxury properties in Bent Creek and Biltmore Forest. The market experiences seasonal fluctuations, with peak activity during spring and fall when the mountains showcase their natural beauty, making properties particularly appealing to out-of-state buyers relocating from metropolitan areas.

Inventory challenges persist across most price ranges, with new construction struggling to keep pace with demand, particularly in the $300,000 to $600,000 range that appeals to the growing population of remote workers. The county's topography creates unique zoning and development constraints, making buildable lots increasingly valuable and driving creative solutions like tiny home communities and mixed-use developments.
