About Kenneth Ledford

Scotty, a native of Southern Maryland and the Washington D.C. area, graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in 1980. He earned an Associate's Degree in Business from Prince George’s College in 1982, which led him to a managerial role at Homes & Land Magazine of Southern Maryland.

In 1986, Scotty launched his own franchise, Homes & Land Magazine of Prince George’s County, and later became the managing partner of the Southern Maryland publication. Over a span of 23 years, he consistently ranked among the “Top 20 Publisher’s Club,” competing against more than 300 publishers and owners. His dedication to excellence was recognized in 1991 when he received the prestigious “Publisher of the Year Award.”

In 2001, after acquiring a condominium on Florida's West Coast, Scotty engaged a property manager and enrolled the unit in a monthly rental program. When the condo remained unoccupied, he would travel from Maryland to enjoy extended stays. These visits quickly made it clear that he preferred life in Florida, prompting his relocation to Sarasota in January 2003.

With a solid foundation in real estate, Scotty obtained his Florida Real Estate License in 2004 and subsequently sold his Homes & Land franchises in Maryland. Initially affiliated with several large national brokers, he soon recognized the advantages of partnering with a local firm. Recently, he joined Sarasota Bay Real Estate, stating, “No other broker provides the tools necessary for me to effectively represent my clients and their interests.”
