She pursued higher education at the University of Kentucky, earning a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies with a focus on Applied Child Development and Psychology in 1993. After completing her undergraduate studies, she returned to Northern Kentucky to further her education at Xavier University, where she obtained a Master’s of Education in Counseling in 1995.

In the same year she earned her Master’s degree, she married and welcomed her first child. To balance family life, she accepted a part-time role as a recreation director, a position she held for two decades. Throughout her tenure, she organized events, coordinated activities, supervised staff, and fostered meaningful relationships within the community. Her work, often perceived as play, allowed her to positively impact countless individuals, providing programs for all ages and creating a welcoming environment that brought joy to many.

Residing in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area with her husband and three children, she has firsthand experience navigating two esteemed school systems.
