With a diverse background in law and public policy, Ms. Slaughter has held significant roles as a lawyer, lobbyist, community and healthcare liaison, and Congressional staff member. Her transition to real estate followed a distinguished career in various legal and senior management positions within the District of Columbia government. Notably, she has served as the legal advisor and FOIA officer for the DC Auditor, deputy general counsel, and senior attorney advisor for the DC Public Service Commission, as well as a special assistant and deputy at the Office of the Attorney General.

Before her tenure in the District, Ms. Slaughter was a political appointee during the Clinton Administration, where she worked for two terms at the Department of Energy. Her earlier experience includes serving as Chief of Staff and tax and trade attorney for two U.S. Representatives.

Having grown up in the diplomatic corps, Ms. Slaughter possesses a wealth of knowledge in international affairs and is an avid traveler. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Holyoke College and her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center. Ms. Slaughter is also a proud parent of a daughter attending the University of Pennsylvania.
