He held the position of Director of Financial Management at the State Franchise Tax Board, where he oversaw critical financial operations and strategic decision-making. His extensive career also includes roles as a budget analyst and manager within the Department of Consumer Affairs and the Franchise Tax Board.

In addition to his financial expertise, Marco has a rich history in coaching football, dedicating 27 years to the sport. His commitment to coaching was evident as he balanced this passion with his professional responsibilities, often working 14-hour days and sometimes seven days a week. He concluded his coaching career at Sacramento City College in 2015, having contributed to teams at the community college, high school, and youth levels. Notably, he was part of the Sierra College coaching staff that achieved a national record of 37 consecutive wins from 2002 to 2005 and played a role in Del Oro High School's triumph in the 2013 Northern California Regional Championship, which led to a state championship appearance.

As a proven leader, Marco has transitioned into the real estate industry with the same work ethic and commitment to service that defined his previous roles. Marco has been married to Mary Esquivel for 26 years and is the proud father of two children, Christina, 22, and Marco Jr., 19. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from California State University, Sacramento, and a Master’s in Sports Science from the United States Sports Academy. In his leisure time, Marco enjoys outdoor activities, including skiing and spending time at the beaches, and he is an avid college football fan.
