About Martin Molz

Martin is the owner and qualifying broker of MKM Real Estate, bringing a wealth of global experience to the Taos real estate market. His connection to northern New Mexico began nearly three decades ago when he first visited Taos and Taos Ski Valley for skiing with his wife’s family. Over the past fifteen years, he has focused on investing in local real estate, and as a resident, he has developed a profound understanding of the unique lifestyle and opportunities that this region offers.

Having lived in Southeast Asia, the United Kingdom, and Finnish Lapland, Martin has traveled extensively with his family across all seven continents. This diverse background has allowed him to cultivate a global network and gain valuable insights from various professional sectors. His international experience equips him with a cosmopolitan perspective, enabling him to meet the diverse needs of his clients. With properties in Massachusetts, Liguria, Italy, Taos Ski Valley, and Arroyo Seco, Martin possesses a nuanced understanding of the complexities surrounding second-home ownership. He is licensed in New Mexico and is an active member of the National Association of Realtors.

Martin holds a finance degree from Loyola University of Maryland and began his career in sales at Eastman Kodak. He then relocated to Thailand to work in the seafood industry. In the late 1990s, after earning his MBA, he moved to Singapore to join an Indonesian consumer goods company expanding throughout Southeast Asia. In 2000, he transitioned to England as the COO of a telecommunications firm, where he played a pivotal role in acquiring eight businesses, leading to the company’s public listing in London in 2004 and its eventual sale in 2006.

In early 2017, Martin co-founded Engel & Völkers Taos Real Estate, where he served as an associate broker and co-managed daily operations. He sold his stake in the firm in May 2020, shortly before establishing MKM Real Estate, a boutique brokerage located in downtown Taos, adjacent to The Rolling Still Lounge in the DeBor House and Shops Plaza.

Since late 2017, Martin has successfully represented buyers and sellers in 95 transactions, totaling $50 million in value within the Taos area. He has been an early advocate for blockchain technology and Bitcoin, expressing interest since 2013, and is eager to assist clients interested in transacting with cryptocurrency in the future.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Martin is a CrossFit Level 1 coach and enjoys fitness activities at CrossFit Yeti in Taos, as well as mountain biking, road biking, skiing, and exploring new hiking trails in the Sangre de Cristos. He is actively involved in the community, serving on the governing board of Taos Academy charter school and as treasurer for the Taos Youth Soccer League. Additionally, Martin is a certified notary public.
