Mary Lib Richards, a lifelong resident of Statesville, North Carolina, earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1982. Following her graduation, she began her career in advertising with Jefferson-Pilot Communications. After starting a family with her husband, Jim, she dedicated her early years to raising their two sons. Eventually, she transitioned back into the workforce, contributing her expertise to Davidson College, Boone Communities, and Saussy Burbank Builders before obtaining her real estate license in 2001. Jim Richards hails from Lancaster, South Carolina, and graduated from Davidson College in 1980 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He spent a significant portion of his career as a property casualty insurance agent in the Charlotte area. In 1993, the Richards family relocated to Davidson, North Carolina, where Jim took on the role of Executive Director of the Davidson Athletic Foundation, overseeing athletic fundraising efforts for Davidson College. After seven years, he rejoined an old colleague, Jay Wade, as a minority owner of the J.J. Wade Insurance Agency on Main Street in Davidson. Approximately five years ago, Jim sold his stake in the agency to join his wife, Mary Lib, in her flourishing residential real estate business.

As a licensed broker, Jim supports Mary Lib in various facets of their real estate operations. His primary responsibilities include acting as a buyer’s agent liaison for Keller Williams communications, conducting comparative market analyses for seller listings, and overseeing land and acreage acquisitions. The Richards are also investors in the Huntersville branch of Keller Williams, where Jim serves on the Agent Leadership Council as the Growth and Retention Chair.

Outside of his professional commitments, Jim is a devoted family man, with two sons: Rich, 25, a University of Alabama graduate and teacher at STEM Academy in Nashville, Tennessee, and Jip, 22, a senior baseball player at Davidson College.
