About Michele Brown

Growing up in East Grand Rapids and then raising my own children in Forest Hills has developed my strong love for this community I've watched Grand Rapids grow from a medium-sized town in the midwest to a thriving metropolitan area Because I thoroughly enjoy being able to share "my" Grand Rapids with others I developed a passion for selling real estate when I was a young mother raising my kids

Now after having been an active member of the Grand Rapids Association of Realtors for over 30 years I continue to be committed to providing the best possible service to my clients I enjoy working with buyers as well as sellers and still sells homes "from cottages to castles and everything in between "

I'm proud to have been a founding partner of the first Keller Williams offices in Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo and to have played a role in the recent expansion of Keller Williams Realty in Holland and Grand Haven I've watched our market center grow from its original 8 agents to over 150 agents today In 2009 Keller Williams grew to become the 3rd largest real estate company in the nation and our market center was voted the #1 real estate office in Grand Rapids through a readers™ poll taken by Grand Rapids Magazine

I feel that I've been fortunate to work with talented people who have helped our group become one of the most professional and high-producing teams in Grand Rapids After working in the manufacturing industry for over 30 years my husband GL joined me in the real estate business shortly after the Keller Williams office opened here in Grand Rapids in June of 2000 Much to my surprise my son entered the business in Boulder Colorado a few years ago and is now a successful real estate agent there

In October of 2001 I asked a friend (and high school classmate) Bev Ponchahar to come into the office to do some troubleshooting for me She ended up staying as my Office Manager/Licensed Assistant Bev describes herself as a ™generalist in the day of specialization™ ™ she knows how to dig in and get things done and is not afraid of hard work She was the Office Manager at Warner Norcross & Judd one of the largest law firms in Grand Rapids for many years and brings that expertise with her ™ she keeps track of everyone and everything in our office

In October of 2005 we added Amy Vissman as our Buyer™s Agent Amy had been a Keller Williams agent for about a year and when invited to join our group looked at it as an opportunity to be a part of one of the most professional and high-producing teams in Grand Rapids She™s a real team player and fits right into our group

As a real estate agent I believe that honesty with clients is incredibly important because you become a part of the lives of the people you work with With 4 licensed realtors in our group I've put together a dynamite team that can handle all your real estate needs We dot the "i"s and cross the "t"s -- we do it right! We strive to provide unparalleled service that gets you moving We know real estate we know people and we care!

We look forward to being of service to you and helping you with any of your real estate needs

Kent County, Michigan represents one of the state's most dynamic and diverse real estate markets, anchored by Grand Rapids as the second-largest city in Michigan. The county's real estate landscape encompasses everything from historic urban neighborhoods and modern downtown condominiums to sprawling suburban developments and rural properties along the Grand River. With 5,829 total actively licensed agents operating throughout the region, the market demonstrates remarkable depth and professional expertise that reflects the area's economic vitality and population growth.

What makes Kent County particularly intriguing is its blend of established communities like East Grand Rapids and Kentwood alongside rapidly developing areas such as Byron Center and Cascade Township. The presence of major employers including Steelcase, Amway, and Spectrum Health has created sustained demand for both residential and commercial properties, while the county's 5,829 agents with email connectivity ensure that market information flows efficiently across all sectors and price points.

Major Kent County, Michigan Real Estate Markets

Grand Rapids dominates Kent County's real estate activity, with distinct markets ranging from the trendy Heritage Hill historic district to the modern high-rises of downtown and the family-friendly neighborhoods of Eastown and Creston. Surrounding communities like Wyoming offer more affordable housing options, while East Grand Rapids commands premium prices for its excellent schools and lakefront properties. The suburban markets of Kentwood, Grandville, and Walker provide diverse housing stock that appeals to young professionals and growing families alike.

Beyond the Grand Rapids metropolitan core, Kent County's real estate markets extend into charming smaller communities such as Rockford, with its quaint downtown and highly rated schools, and Caledonia, known for newer construction and rural-suburban appeal. The northern townships like Algoma and Plainfield offer a mix of agricultural properties and residential developments, while areas like Cascade Township feature some of the county's most exclusive neighborhoods and luxury home markets.

Market Dynamics and Geographic Complexity

Kent County's real estate market exhibits fascinating micro-trends that vary dramatically by location and property type. The downtown Grand Rapids condo market has experienced significant growth due to urban revitalization efforts and the influx of young professionals, while suburban markets like Byron Center and Caledonia have seen new construction booms driven by families seeking modern amenities and top-rated schools. Inventory levels fluctuate considerably between urban, suburban, and rural segments, creating opportunities for agents who understand these distinct market dynamics.

The county's geographic diversity creates unique challenges and opportunities, from waterfront properties along numerous lakes to historic homes in established neighborhoods and new developments on former agricultural land. Seasonal patterns affect different areas uniquely, with lake properties experiencing summer surges while urban markets maintain more consistent year-round activity. This complexity requires deep local knowledge and sophisticated market analysis to navigate successfully.
