About Peter Maw

DeDe was born at George Air Force Base, later relocating to San Diego after her father retired from the United States Air Force. He transitioned into a career as a commercial airline pilot with PSA and subsequently US Airways. Pete, originally from Vancouver, BC, moved to the United States in 2000 to advance his career in investment banking. In 2003, seeking a more balanced lifestyle, he relocated to Mammoth to embark on a career in real estate. That same year, DeDe moved to Mammoth to pursue her passion for rock climbing and assist her sister with her newborn.

Their journey together began in Mammoth Lakes, California, where Pete and DeDe met in 2003. They married in Mammoth in 2005, and their two children were born there. During their time in Mammoth, DeDe founded and operated Mammoth Montessori Children’s House, a vital community resource for nearly a decade. Pete also initiated his real estate career in the same year.

In 2014, the couple moved to San Diego following DeDe’s father’s diagnosis with brain cancer, allowing her to spend valuable time with him. They chose to remain in San Diego to support DeDe’s mother and because of the city’s exceptional quality of life. San Diego has offered them and their children numerous opportunities, including excellent schools, sports programs, outdoor activities, and a vibrant real estate market conducive to their careers.

That same year, Pete proudly became an American citizen. Together, Pete and DeDe form a strong team, bringing extensive transactional experience and knowledge to their clients. They emphasize work ethic, loyalty, trust, and honesty, guiding clients through the complexities of the real estate landscape with care.

The cornerstone of their real estate practice is a commitment to delivering the highest level of customer service and dedication. They combine in-depth knowledge and analysis with patience and empathy, a balance that their clients appreciate, as reflected in their testimonials. A significant portion of their business is generated through client referrals, a testament to their effectiveness.

Pete and DeDe recognize the value they bring to their clients through their dynamic and hardworking real estate team, Janicke Swanson & Associates. From the initial consultation to the closing and beyond, they are fully committed to supporting their clients every step of the way.

San Diego County's real estate market stands as one of California's most dynamic and valuable, encompassing everything from beachfront luxury properties in La Jolla to family-friendly suburban developments in Poway and Santee. With a median home price consistently ranking among the nation's highest, this Southern California market attracts investors, homebuyers, and real estate professionals from across the globe, creating an intensely competitive environment where local expertise proves invaluable.

The county's 29,242 total actively licensed agents represent one of the most concentrated real estate professional populations in the United States, with remarkably, all 29,242 agents maintaining email contact information—a testament to the market's tech-savvy, digitally connected nature. This substantial agent network reflects the complexity and opportunity within San Diego's diverse real estate landscape, from downtown high-rise condominiums to sprawling ranch properties in the backcountry.

Major San Diego County, California Real Estate Markets

The county's real estate activity centers around several distinct metropolitan markets, each with unique characteristics and price points. Coastal communities like Del Mar, Solana Beach, and Encinitas command premium prices for their proximity to beaches and highly rated schools, while inland cities such as Escondido, El Cajon, and Chula Vista offer more affordable options that still benefit from the county's year-round climate and economic opportunities. Downtown San Diego's urban core has experienced dramatic growth in high-density residential development, transforming formerly industrial areas into sought-after neighborhoods.

North County markets including Carlsbad, Oceanside, and Vista have emerged as particularly hot segments, attracting both young professionals and retirees seeking newer construction and master-planned communities. Meanwhile, East County areas like Santee, La Mesa, and Lemon Grove provide traditional suburban living with significantly lower entry costs, making them increasingly popular among first-time homebuyers and families seeking larger properties with outdoor space.

Market Dynamics and Geographic Complexity

San Diego County's real estate market exhibits remarkable geographic complexity, with microclimates, school district boundaries, and proximity to employment centers creating dramatically different property values within short distances. A surprising trend has been the rise of luxury markets in previously overlooked areas—neighborhoods in National City and Spring Valley have seen substantial appreciation as buyers seek alternatives to traditionally expensive coastal areas, while maintaining reasonable commutes to major employment hubs.

The market's seasonal patterns differ significantly from many California regions, with activity remaining relatively steady year-round due to the consistent climate and steady influx of military relocations, technology workers, and retirees. However, inventory levels fluctuate dramatically between coastal and inland areas, with beachfront properties maintaining extremely low supply levels while inland markets experience more typical seasonal variations in available homes.

Why Businesses Need San Diego County, California Agent Contact Data

Mortgage lenders, title companies, and real estate service providers require direct access to San Diego's extensive agent network to capture market share in this high-value market. With average transaction values significantly above national norms, establishing relationships with even a small percentage of the county's 29,242 agents can generate substantial business volume, making comprehensive agent contact databases essential for competitive positioning.

Insurance companies, home improvement contractors, and financial services firms benefit enormously from direct agent relationships, as these professionals influence client decisions across multiple high-value services. The fact that all active agents maintain email addresses enables efficient digital marketing campaigns and relationship-building efforts that can quickly scale across this large, geographically diverse professional network.
