Richard MacDonald is a seasoned real estate expert with more than 42 years of experience on Hilton Head Island. He is an active member of both the National Association of Realtors and the Hilton Head Island Area Association of Realtors, as well as the Hilton Head Island Multiple Listing Service.

Originally from Dillon, South Carolina, Richard earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of South Carolina. Shortly after completing his degree, he relocated to Hilton Head Island and embarked on his real estate career in 1980. In 1985, he married Janet Sanders MacDonald, a native of Beaufort, South Carolina. Together, they have raised three sons on Hilton Head Island. Their eldest son, Sanders, resides in Fort Mill, South Carolina, with his wife Sami and their two children. Their middle son, Corey, a Clemson University graduate, lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with his wife Candice. The youngest son, Taylor, graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design and currently resides on Hilton Head Island.

Richard and his family are active members of the Hilton Head Presbyterian Church, where he serves as an Elder, while Janet contributes to the Women's Ministries Team.
