He completed his primary education at Heights Elementary and graduated from Cypress Lakes High School. Growing up, Rick gained valuable experience working on fishing boats for his family's well-known establishment, "Getaway Marina." Following high school, he dedicated himself to obtaining his Captain's license while also pursuing a career as a Scuba Diving Instructor and commercial diver.

Rick became one of the youngest Captains in the region, acquiring a 100-foot liveaboard dive boat to establish a unique diving business. For many years, he has guided divers to the Dry Tortugas, providing them with unforgettable experiences.
