Robert, originally from Richmond, Virginia, has experienced a diverse upbringing, having lived in various cities across the United States, including Elkin, North Carolina; Seattle, Washington; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Bowling Green, Kentucky, where he completed his high school education. He later relocated to Lexington, Kentucky, to pursue a degree in Economics at the University of Kentucky.
