After serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam conflict, Roger relocated to Upstate New York, where he held various management roles before founding Oneida Valley Abstract Corporation in 1984. In 2001, he transitioned to Southwest Florida, drawn by the area's natural beauty and recreational opportunities. His interests, particularly in sailing and racing, have flourished in this new environment. As an active member of the Punta Gorda Sailing Club, Roger participates in competitive sailing, while also engaging in the Florida Open Wheel Lite Dwarf Car series, where he serves on the Board of Directors.

A longstanding commitment to community service is evident in Roger's involvement with the Lions Club, where he has held multiple leadership positions both in New York and Florida. His dedication to Lionism has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of his life.

In August 2001, Roger obtained his real estate salesperson license, followed by his broker's license in 2003. He is a proud member of the local Board of Realtors' Million Dollar Club, specializing in a diverse range of properties, including vacant land, residential homes, and commercial real estate.
