Rusty began his career in the hospitality industry as an Assistant Front Desk Manager at the Holiday Inn Hotel de Las Cruces before transitioning to real estate and property management in San Diego County, California. From 1985 to 2006, he served as a real estate agent at various brokerages in the region. In 2006, he co-founded Zia Properties Inc., where he currently serves as Broker and Co-Owner. Rusty is also a Certified Default Advocacy Training (CDAT) Broker, a designation he has held since 2013.

Having personally experienced the challenges of foreclosure, Rusty is deeply committed to guiding clients through the complexities of the real estate market. His mission is to provide honest and accurate information, empowering individuals to regain stability in their lives.
